More Pictures

It is amazing how many pictures we have taken of Andrew over the past week. He is just so precious that we can't help ourselves.

He sleeps most of the day. I often have to wake him up to eat because he won't wake up himself. We are still working on sleeping at night. At first he would sleep as long as we were holding him but would not sleep in his bed. Then he started sleeping in his bed fine. However tonight we are back to holding. In the second picture he is grabbing the handle on the moses basket.

We have been so blessed by our church during this time. We have been provided with wonderful meals and have had many visitors.

Pics of Andrew

We came home from the hospital on Thursday afternoon. I have to say that our hospital experience was great. The midwives that took care of us were wonderful.

These are pictures from our 2nd day in hospital.

On day 3, Andrew was sporting his OU outfit. Daddy was so proud. It is a little big at this point.

This was a moment I had to capture...Andrew helping Daddy with his reading.

On Friday we took Andrew for a walk. It was a beautiful, sunny day. He seemed to enjoy it.

Introducing . . .

Andrew Connor Maston

Born at 1:52 am on the 1st of April
Weighing 6 lbs 11 oz
No height measurement yet (this will be down when we leave the hospital)

Mom and baby are doing great. He slept all day, and mom slept a few hours. (Dad is doing well too.)

We will give more details when we return home.

No, this is not an April Fool's Day joke, although the thought did cross my mind.
Here are some friends at the hospital to prove it.

Baby Update

I have started my maternity leave and now have a few weeks to get things ready for baby. Since our second room is not repaired yet, we have not been able to organise a lot of the baby stuff. This past weekend, we moved a dresser from the second room into our room so I could put the baby's clothes and things away. Jason put together the stand for our moses basket so it is now ready. The bags are packed. Now I can relax and catch up on some reading. Here is a picture of the moses basket.

I read something really funny today. I was reading a pamphlet about immunizations. It says to call your doctor immediately if your child 1) has a high temperature or 2) has a fit. I thought "Has a fit?" Why would I call the doctor for that? Then I realized that "fit" must have a different meaning here than "tantrum." Here it refers to a seizure. I got a good laugh out of that.

Here are a few pictures of the "bump". The first two are 35 weeks and the next is 37 weeks.

Snow, Snow, and more Snow

It started snowing last Friday and continued until Tuesday afternoon. The funny thing was, though it snowed for 5 days, we only accumulated about an inch. It just wasn't cold enough to stick. It would snow for a while, then the sun would come out, and then it would snow some more. We may get more tonight and tomorrow. No Spring weather yet for us!

Here is a picture of the building our flat is in. The last time I posted it wouldn't let me add this one. It is an old church building.

New Flat

We moved into our new flat Friday night. It was a relatively easy move since we didn't have much furniture and it is only .3 miles from our other place. Our new flat is decorated very nice. The kitchen is much bigger than our other one. The master bedroom is also much bigger. In the other flat, one side of the bed was against the wall. It is really nice to be able to walk on both sides of the bed. We also have more closet space. The first three pictures are of the lounge and kitchen.

Here is the master bedroom and the bathroom.

This is the second bedroom. The leasing agency called us on Wednesday and told us that a pipe burst in the flat above us. Water came down through the ceiling and walls into our place. Part of the walls and carpet will need to be replaced. They will try to get this done as soon as possible, considering we have a baby coming in 5 weeks.

This next picture is very blurry, but let me explain. We have a pad, about 6 inches thick, that goes on top of our regular mattress. We didn't think we could get it in our friend's car. So Jason and another friend carried it to the new flat. I'm sure some people driving by got a good laugh.

New Pic

Ok, so the more I looked at the picture from the previous post, the more I disliked it. It makes me look huge! Jason says I'm just pregnant. But there are outfits that flatter the bump and those that don't. And that one didn't!

So here is a better pic. The red shirt will not be worn again.

We move into our new flat next weekend. It will be nice to get settled and finally get things ready for baby. Stay tuned for pics of the new place.

Weekend Away

I had a three day weekend this past week so we decided to take a trip to Edinburgh. In 6 years of marriage we have never been on a vacation for just the two of us. We have always been with family or friends. So before baby comes, we took the chance to get away.

We took a bus down Friday night. On Saturday we went to see the castle and the Queen's palace. When we were in Edinburgh in July, it was pouring rain and the view from the castle was not good. It was extremely foggy. The Queen was also in residence at the palace so we couldn't tour it. The view from the castle was much clearer this time and we enjoyed our palace tour. The first picture below is the front of the castle and the next two are views from the castle.

Saturday night we went to see the movie Jumper and had a nice dinner at an Italian restaurant. Sunday we went to a church that our pastor recommended. It was very similar to the church we attend. We also went to an art museum and the Scottish Museum. We headed home Monday morning. It was a nice, relaxing weekend. I do have to laugh at the way we hop on buses now like it is nothing. We took different buses all around Edinburgh with no problem.

I reached the 8 month mark of my pregnancy this week. I asked Jason to take a picture and was shocked when I saw it. My bump looks huge! If you look at the 27 week picture on the previous post there in quite a difference. Part of it is the type of shirt in this photo. Part of it is that the photo is closer up. But I guess the bottom line is my bump is definitely bigger!!!

7 1/2 weeks to go...and more growing to do!
