Trip to Edinburgh

We realized the other day that Andrew was going to experience things in his first year that it took over 20 years for us to experience. He is only 7 weeks old and he has been on his first train ride, seen his first castle, and now has his own passport. Here he is sleeping on the train.

While our moms were here, we went on a 2 day trip to Edinburgh to see the sights and apply for Andrew's passport. We enjoyed a trip to the zoo. My mom said we should get Andrew out of the stroller and hold him up to the glass to see how the monkeys would respond. They came up to the glass to look at him. It was so funny.

Here are some random pics from the last few weeks. The bath pics below show how quickly Andrew's mood can change.

We were pretty impressed at him holding his own pacifier.

Daddy trying to put Andrew to sleep (or is it the other way around?)

Sporting the OU outfit.

Here are a few others pictures from Dunnottar Castle.

New Pics

Andrew went to his first castle the other day. We started at the Stonehaven Harbour and walked about 1 1/2 miles along the coast to Dunnottar Castle (of course Andrew rode in his Snugli). It was a beautiful, sunny day.

Here are some other pics from our moms' visit.

This pose was so funny. Wonder what he was thinking?

Fun in the Sun

Yesterday was a beautiful day. It was sunny and warm. There is a field across the street from our flat with gorgeous flowers. We had fun taking some pictures.

The Grandma's Are Here

Both Grandma's arrived last Thursday. They are thoroughly enjoying Andrew. It has been very nice to have their help.

In a previous post I mentioned that Andrew would not sit in a bouncy seat we borrowed from friends. Well, Grandma Maston brought a bouncy seat for him and he likes it!

I love pictures of our little man sleeping. He looks so peaceful.

Grandpa Maston

We had our first visitor from home this past weekend. Grandpa Maston came on Thursday. We had a good time but like always the visit ended too soon.

Here is Andrew in his cute overalls. I was so excited to capture this smile.

Andrew has been suffering from reflux. They told us to keep him upright as much as possible. So I borrowed a bouncy seat from a friend, thinking that would help. Problem is, Andrew does not like it. He usually screams as soon as we put him in it. In this picture below he stayed in it for about 20 min.

Growing boy

Andrew is almost 3 weeks old! I can't believe it. He now weighs 7lbs. 11 ounces. He gained 9 ounces last week. He has started staying awake more during the day, which means he is sleeping better at night.

We had a few adventures this week. The weather was nice so we took a few walks. We tried using his Snugli carrier. He wasn't sure about it at first, but then was fine with it. He looked like a doll in it though. He was stiff as could be. He also went for his first bus ride. It was a 2 hour adventure to Tesco to grocery shop. He slept through the entire trip.

Here are a few pictures of Andrew sleeping on daddy while daddy studied. Too cute!

Andrew is thinking about falling asleep but not sure he wants to.

My creative side

I decided a few days ago to experiment with some black and white photos. I was very pleased with some of the shots. A few came out a little blurry but I kept them anyway because of Andrew's cute expressions.

More Pictures

It is amazing how many pictures we have taken of Andrew over the past week. He is just so precious that we can't help ourselves.

He sleeps most of the day. I often have to wake him up to eat because he won't wake up himself. We are still working on sleeping at night. At first he would sleep as long as we were holding him but would not sleep in his bed. Then he started sleeping in his bed fine. However tonight we are back to holding. In the second picture he is grabbing the handle on the moses basket.

We have been so blessed by our church during this time. We have been provided with wonderful meals and have had many visitors.
