This will cheer you up!

If anyone needs cheering up today just watch this video. You'll be giggling by the end. This is one of our friends playing with Andrew in the mirror.

Andrew is now big enough to face forward in his Snugli. He loves going for a walk and taking everything in. Daddy was less than thrilled that I made him stop for this pic, but he hid it well!

Andrew is in this awkward stage where he can't sit up yet, he is almost too big for his bouncy seat, and he doesn't like laying flat on the floor because he can't see everything. So I have been propping him up to sit or helping him to sit up. His mind is so active but his body doesn't always do what he wants it to do.

Everyone has commented lately on how bright Andrew's eyes are and how social he is. He loves for people to talk to him. He was squealing and talking to a lady and her daughter in the doctor's office the other day. It was so cute.

This is Andrew and Daddy's balancing trick.

Update on the boy

Something must be wrong with my son. He slept almost 12 hours last night and just took a 1 1/2 hour nap. He used to sleep that long over night, but the past few weeks he has only slept about 8 hours (which I know is still good). And he hardly ever sleeps more than 30 minutes at a time during the day. I haven't known what to do with myself with all this time today!

We took Andrew swimming for the first time last week. He loved it! He sat in a floaty for a while and kicked is feet. He liked putting his hands in the water and then eating his hand. He also liked swimming on his stomach. He kept trying to put his face in the water. We only got 2 pictures because we had to put the camera away. You're not allowed to have cameras at public pools.

The term "energizer bunny" came to mind the other day when watching Andrew. He was sitting in his bouncy seat just wiggling like crazy, arms and legs both going. He loves to move! And he is getting so strong. He is holding his head up really well when on his tummy. He has also learned to take out his pacifier. He only uses it when going to sleep. Maybe he has figured out "Hey if I take this thing out I won't fall asleep!" He also put the pacifier in his mouth himself the other day, but that may have been by accident. I don't know if he really knew what he was doing.

Life in Scotland

We have been in Scotland almost 2 years. It has gone by so fast! I was thinking the other day about how much we have adjusted to life here. Sometimes I surprise myself by the things I do and say. Here are just a few.

You know you've adjusted to life in Scotland when...
-You walk into the creche (nursery) at church and say "Hiya."
-The salesperson at the store asks if you want a bag for your things and you reply "No thanks, I'll just pop them in the buggy." Translation: I'll put them in the stroller.
-Your walking outside in a t-shirt and jeans thinking "I am so hot!" and it is only 65 degrees.
-For 6:30, You say half six instead of six thirty.
-Your grandma comments on how the paper towel rolls are smaller than in the States, and you have totally forgotten that they were any different.
-Your husband says "Perhaps we could...." (or maybe that is just the PhD studies).
-You say you will "phone" someone instead of "call" them.

Andrew got his 4 month injections last Thursday. He slept hard for a few hours in the afternoon.

He has begun to love his bath time. He will play in the water for a while.

It was a beautiful day on Saturday. We walked to the park and enjoyed some time in the sunshine.

Andrew enjoys playing in the mirror. Please excuse the burp at the end. We are trying to teach him manners!

Growing so fast!

It is amazing how excited we get over new things Andrew does. Just proud parents I guess! Keep watching, he saved the best for last.

Here are a few new pics as well.

On another note, I was a beautiful sunny day today. We were so hot. I was ready to put on a swimsuit and sit in the sun. Want to know what the temperature was? 75 degrees! We are going to be in trouble when we have to face those Arizona temps.

New Flat

We are moved into our new flat and finally settled. The unpacking took a while. Thank you to our friends who helped us move! We greatly appreciate it. Here are some photos.

Andrew has learned a few new things in the last couple of weeks. He is now grabbing and holding toys. He is also laughing and has discovered he can make a high-pitched squeaking noise. He loves to look in the mirror and talk to the cute boy that he sees. He is very social and loves to be talked with.

Here are two videos of the new sounds Andrew has discovered.

3 months old

Andrew is 3 months old now! Wow, how the time flies. The picture below is the face we see when we go get Andrew in the morning. He used to wake up crying and wanting to be fed right away. Now he wakes up cooing and smiling and likes to play for a few minutes before eating.

Andrew wore a button-up shirt and khaki trousers to church on Sunday. He looked like such a big boy!

Andrew has also started teething! He has one tooth coming in on the bottom and I think another is starting. Could be a few months before they fully come in, but the process has started!
