Scan Pictures of Baby #2

We had our 20 week scan last week. Baby co-operated and the technician was able to see everything she needed to. Baby looks healthy. I felt movement at about 14 weeks, but in the last week baby has seemed to be much more active. This first picture is of the whole body.

Andrew doesn't seem to understand about baby yet. We show him my belly and say "baby." He just pulls my shirt back down over my belly!

Married to a Doctor

Did you know that I am now married to a doctor? No...I did not trade Jason in. He passed his viva and now has his PhD. So we are Dr. and Mrs. Jason Maston!

Story about the Boy

I went to pick up Andrew from nursery on Wednesday and his teacher told me a story about him playing in the water tray. She looked over and Andrew was dumping a container of water over his head. It must have been a big container because his clothes were soaked. They had changed him into dry clothes of course. I told her the reason he probably did this was because our friend taught him to take a cup in the bath and pour it over his head. She commented that the water tray must not have been as warm as his bath because he had a very shocked look on his face when he did it.

These pics are a bit delayed but I have been crazy busy since school started back!

Here are Andrew and Daddy eating pie crust cinnamon rolls (pie crust with cinnamon and sugar spread on it, rolled up and baked). These are a favourite among the Maston guys and Andrew has just joined the clan. He loved them.

He loved them so much he wouldn't share! Here is Andrew feeding Gigi his crumbs. He sure wasn't going to share any of the rest of it!

We are starting him early on the Starbucks addiction. This is just water.

He likes to play with Mommy's cup when she's done and hopes some drops are left.

And he did taste Daddy's frappaccino. That was a mistake. He loved it.

Visit from Gigi and Great Grandma

Andrew's Gigi and Great Grandma Maston came to visit this past week. We had really nice weather and were able to enjoy lots of time outside.

On Thursday we went to Hazlehead Park. We went to the Pet's Corner to see different animals. We also played at the park. Then we had some ice cream.

Andrew loves to ride the rocking animals at the park. He holds on tight and rocks himself as hard as he can.

Andrew was so funny eating his ice cream cone. He kept turning it sideways and I was sure the ice cream was going to fall on the floor!

On Friday we took the train to a town called Inverurie. It has a garden centre with a cafe. The cafe sells big pancakes with either maple syrup or toffee sauce and ice cream. They are wonderful. Andrew ate a whole pancake (with just butter), which wasn't much smaller than the adult ones.

On Monday we went to a Ceramic place to get Andrew's hand and footprints done. Here is Andrew walking with Gigi to the place.

Developing Personality

Who new a hat could be so much fun! We will put it on Andrew and then he will go back and forth between Jason and I putting it on each of us.

What a picture. One pant leg up like a gangster, hat over his face, and belt in his hand. Yes, a belt is a good toy too. Our son plays with everything except toys!

And of course the sideways look. By the way, he did all these himself.

We're starting him early with his chores.

His walker is now turned into a car. What a clever idea, two toys in one. So far he can only go backwards.


Andrew loves music. Tonight he was playing with playdough while watching Barney. He loves all the singing. Then he started bouncing up and down. It was so funny. We don't know why he was doing it, but it was cute. Maybe it is his way of dancing.

Good News and a Story about Andrew

Yes, we are expecting baby #2. We are due February 1st. I am 12 weeks now, so the sickness is starting to get better. My energy level is also picking up.

I have a cute story about Andrew. I went to pick him up from nursery on Thursday at about 2:00 and he was around a corner in the eating area. He is often over there exploring when I pick him up. He's hoping for more food I guess. Well, I walked to where I could see around the corner and he was sitting at the table. One of the staff picked him up and brought him to me. I asked her what he was doing. She said he saw the food trolley with the afternoon snack come in and he ran over and sat at the table. I had a good laugh. What can I say, our son loves his food!

Trip to Durham and York

Last week the three of us took a trip to two cities in England. The first was Durham. It has a beautiful cathedral. What Jason failed to mention was that it also had very long, steep hills! This was great fun with a buggy (stroller).

Next we went to York. It was originally founded by the Romans in the late 1st Century.



We visited the York Minster, a Cathedral. It was amazing! The pictures do not do it justice. It is so big that we couldn't get the whole thing in one picture. We toured the inside, as well as the crypt and treasury below.





I took these two pictures to show the width and height of these pillars.


This picture shows the Roman wall that surrounds the old part of the city. You can walk all the way around the wall. The Minster can be seen in the background.

This is one of the gates to enter the old part of the city. It is called Bootham's Bar.

One of the museums gave us this carrier for Andrew. He thought it was fun...for about 10 minutes!

One afternoon we went to the Railway Museum. Andrew and I went on a miniature train ride. This is funny now that I think about it because Andrew has been on plenty of real trains!
