Andrew's Newest Achievement

The lovely blanket is over the coffee table to keep Andrew from putting dents in it. He loves to bang things on it to make noise.

Saturday we walked to Duthie Park. On the way we found a field of daffodils and had fun taking pictures.

Trip to Stirling

This past Tuesday we went on a day trip to Stirling Castle with Gigi and Grandpa. It was a cold, rainy day but we made the most of it.

Andrew is doing really well with feeding himself. We help him get the food on the spoon but he does the rest. Gigi has been laughing at his huge bites.

Andrew's 1st Birthday

Andrew turned 1 on the 1st of April. I can't believe how fast this year has gone by. On Saturday he took his first steps! It was so exciting.

My friend Judith and I made a lion cake for Andrew's party.

We had friends over on Saturday for a BBQ and cake. Andrew tried the cake but wasn't really interested. He did like the shortbread biscuit (cookie) that his Gigi gave him.

New Toy

Thanks Great Grandma Maston for Andrew's birthday money. Here's what he bought. In the last blog we said that he likes to bang on things. Well, hopefully this toy will help.



He will be 1 year old next Wednesday! Where has the time gone?!?

Update on Andrew

Andrew is finally feeling better and back to his normal self. He is eating huge amounts of food to make up for what he didn't eat while he was sick. He has been jabbering like crazy. He is also crawling everywhere. Now that he has learned to crawl, he has slowed down on his walking. But he still likes to hold onto furniture and walk.

I am still amazed at how he likes to play with everything except his toys! His favourite things this week have been my scarf and brushes. Here he is playing the xylophone with my brush and then beating his poor penguin with the brush.


Andrew has been feeding himself more. Look at the state of his hair after attempting to feed himself peaches. He tipped the bowl upside down over his head!

Andrew also loves banging on things. He likes the noise it makes. Unfortunately one of the things he loves to bang on is the coffee table. He is learning not to, but he has to be reminded often. In this video you can see him bang on the table and then look at Jason to see his reaction. He is also jabbering away.

Are we done yet?!?

We seem to be plagued by sickness! Two weeks ago Andrew got conjunctivitis (pink eye). Three days later he got chicken pox. Those lasted for a week. This Tuesday he was finally able to return to nursery. Now today (Friday) he has a stomach bug! So for the past two weeks Jason and I have been taking turns off work to stay at home. My questions is "Are we done yet?"

There is a good side to all of this. We get lots more cuddles than usual :)
