Growing Boy

We have had two new developments recently. In the morning Andrew always goes down to say hi to Jason. He climbs in bed, gives him a cuddle and then heads to the kitchen for breakfast. As he leaves he says "Bye,Bye" and waves to Jason. Last week he said "Bye,Bye Daddy." That is the first time he has put two words together. We were so proud!

The other was when Andrew was taking a nap. It is not uncommon for him to talk on and off during his nap. Last Saturday he had been talking a bit. When I went up to get him I got a surprise. His car seat which sits against one wall had been moved across the room and one of his toy baskets had been dumped. But he was back in his bed. Funny thing was Jason and I had never heard any noises to suggest he was out of bed. And, he did this all in a sleep bag!

Andrew loves hopping/jumping. He actually gets both feet off the ground.

Grandpa Maston gave Andrew another KU outfit. He looks really cute in it. And he is obsessed with his NWA pilots hat Gigi gave him.

This pic is at 32 weeks. We are now at 34 weeks. Not long to go!

Andrew loves to listen to the "Happy and you know it" song on his Barney video. He claps, stomps, and jumps with the characters. He will even point to his face when they do. It is really cute. I don't know what the upset at the beginning was. Maybe it is because I wasn't singing along. I didn't want to scare any of you with my voice!

This is just a funny video of Andrew playing with a laundry basket and camera case and talking up a storm.

The Holiday Season Has Begun

Andrew's Uncle and Aunt sent him some Thanksgiving pajamas. They are so cute! Andrew is also becoming a daredevil/acrobat. He loves jumping, climbing, and hanging upside down.

Andrew loves wearing hats. However, we likes wearing them inside and not outside! This is a hat Gigi made him.

Jason's parents came for a visit a few weeks ago. The Saturday before Thanksgiving, we had a Thanksgiving dinner with his parents and our Scottish friends. It was a lot of fun and I greatly enjoyed the pumpkin pie. Andrew really liked the turkey.

The weekend after Thanksgiving we decorated our Christmas Tree. Andrew was a great helper and really enjoyed it. I finally had to hide some of the ornaments because we had enough on the tree but he wanted to keep putting them on!

29 weeks. We are now at 31. Only 9 to go!

Andrew has learned to give kisses, with sound effects included.

Our independent son

I am still amazed daily at how independent Andrew is becoming. He is now 19 months old. When Andrew woke up this morning, we came down to the kitchen for breakfast. He wanted up in his chair. Once in his chair, he reached towards the counter and said "apple." He has been saying this word for a few days now and is obsessed with eating apples! So I gave him an apple and he started eating. Then I decided to try to get him saying "apple" on video. He can't quite get the "p" sound out, so its very cute.

Sorry for the mass of pictures. I am very behind on posting. Andrew and Daddy have a new game. Daddy lays on the floor and Andrew sits/climbs/lays/ jumps on him. Andrew will now go get a pillow, lay it on the floor, pat it, and say "Dada." He also tries to get me to do it. He doesn't realize I can't lay on my belly anymore!

Our friends Kenny and Judith came over last Saturday to carve a pumpkin. Judith was trying to draw the face and Andrew kept grabbing the marker to help. So we gave him his own pen and he wrote all over the top of the pumpkin.

He enjoyed trying to dig out the insides with a spoon.

When we were finished I went to put the bowl of seeds in the kitchen. Andrew still wanted to play with it. He sat at the table and used his spoon to play with the seeds for a long time. He also kept trying to put the pieces we had cut out back into the pumpkin like a puzzle.

Andrew has moved from his crib to a twin bed. He transitioned very easily. It only took him one day to figure out how to maneuver (in his sleep bag) around the guard and get out of bed. Thankfully he only does this once you've come in and turned on the light. His room is so dark otherwise that he won't try it.

Winter is on its way! We've had some cold days and some milder days. Scarfs and hats aren't needed everyday yet!

Andrew loves to dress himself. Pajamas, wellie boots (rain boots), and a NWA captains hat. What style! The other night he was running around naked with his captain hat on and his toothbrush in his hand. Won't share those pics!

24 weeks

Here is a video of Andrew and Daddy playing their game. Sorry it is so long, but my camera would not let me edit it.

This Past Month

Here are some random pictures from the last month.

Daddy and Andrew eating pancakes and watching cartoons on a Saturday morning.

Andrew enjoying Daddy's chair.

Have I mentioned that Andrew loves to copy everything we do. So we have to be careful! He has seen me wipe up his messes in the kitchen after he eats and now he will take a rag (or sometimes the clean dish towel) and wipe the floor or tables. Here he is dusting the coffee table (with the dishcloth he stole from the kitchen).

Our son never uses anything the way he is meant too. He went through a faze of being obsessed with putting his shopping cart on the coffee table. He was not allowed to do this, but was very persistent in trying!

Andrew playing with Mummy's scarf.

Here is a video of when Andrew first learned to blow kisses. I love the delay between the action and sound. He was blowing kisses to a stranger we passed on the street one day and the man didn't even smile. What a grouch!

This video is of Andrew playing with a cup and dish cloth.

Scan Pictures of Baby #2

We had our 20 week scan last week. Baby co-operated and the technician was able to see everything she needed to. Baby looks healthy. I felt movement at about 14 weeks, but in the last week baby has seemed to be much more active. This first picture is of the whole body.

Baby's face

Another angle of baby's face

This one is harder to see. It is baby's cute little feet!

Andrew doesn't seem to understand about baby yet. We show him my belly and say "baby." He just pulls my shirt back down over my belly!

Married to a Doctor

Did you know that I am now married to a doctor? No...I did not trade Jason in. He passed his viva and now has his PhD. So we are Dr. and Mrs. Jason Maston!

Story about the Boy

I went to pick up Andrew from nursery on Wednesday and his teacher told me a story about him playing in the water tray. She looked over and Andrew was dumping a container of water over his head. It must have been a big container because his clothes were soaked. They had changed him into dry clothes of course. I told her the reason he probably did this was because our friend taught him to take a cup in the bath and pour it over his head. She commented that the water tray must not have been as warm as his bath because he had a very shocked look on his face when he did it.
